RV and Heavy Equipment Transport
Sedans ride nine to a truck. A 38 foot motorhome, a gooseneck full of skid steer, or a combine header does not, and pretending otherwise is how oversized moves go wrong. This is transport priced by dimensions, weight, and the right trailer, and it is a world we work in every week.
How is RV and equipment transport priced?
By the three numbers that decide which truck can legally carry it: length, height, and weight, plus the lane. A drivable Class A can travel under its own power with a professional driver, a towable rides a specialized trailer, and equipment goes on a flatbed, step deck, or lowboy depending on height. Email the specs and we quote against carriers who actually run that gear.
What is the difference between shipping a drivable and a towable rig?
Drivable motorhomes are often driven by a vetted transport driver, which prices differently than trailer freight and skips the loading question entirely. Towables, travel trailers and fifth wheels, need a truck with the right hitch and ratings. Both are routine, they are just different services wearing one nickname.
How does heavy equipment get moved?
On the deck that matches its height: flatbed for low machines, step deck for taller ones, lowboy when the machine plus trailer would otherwise exceed legal height. Tracked machines load by ramp under their own power or by winch, and permits enter the picture only when a load runs genuinely oversize, which we flag before you commit.
How should an RV be prepped for transport?
Like a small house getting on a highway: propane off and tanks sealed, antennas and satellite domes down, awnings secured, slide-outs in, loose exterior items stowed, and interior cabinets latched. Photograph everything the day of pickup. Ten minutes of prep prevents ninety percent of transport claims on rigs.
What about insurance on a big rig or machine?
Carrier cargo insurance rides with the load, and we match the vehicle's declared value against the carrier's policy limits before dispatch rather than after. High-value coaches deserve that check, and it is exactly the kind of detail a $300,000 motorhome should never leave home without.
RV and equipment questions
Can the stuff inside my RV travel with it?
Household contents secured inside cabinets and compartments generally travel, since an RV is built to carry them. Keep valuables with you, and note that carrier cargo insurance covers the rig itself, not the belongings.
Do you ship boats, trailers, and UTVs too?
Yes, anything on wheels or a trailer prices the same way: dimensions, weight, and lane by email. If it rolls, floats on a trailer, or lifts onto a deck, it has a truck.
Does an RV need to be roadworthy to ship?
Drivable service requires exactly that: sound tires, brakes, and lights. A rig that cannot safely roll ships as freight on a suitable trailer instead, just tell us its condition honestly up front.
Why can't the instant calculator price my motorhome?
The calculator is tuned for standard vehicles on standard carriers, and oversized rigs need a human match to the right equipment. That is why specs by email get you a real number instead of a guess.
Email the specs and we price it against real equipment carriers. Standard cars still price instantly in the calculator.
