Auction to Export Warehouse Car Transport

Team Royal Port Logistics · Updated 3 October 2026

Moving auction cars to an export warehouse works on one rhythm: book transport the moment the auction marks your invoice paid, send the yard, lot number, and buyer number, and the driver handles the gate release and delivers to the warehouse you name, usually within one to three days. Exporters shipping several cars a month save real money on standing lanes, one contact, one rate structure, trucks always moving. Email ship@theroyalport.com with your yards and your warehouse and we quote the lane, not just the load.

How the auction to warehouse chain works

You win the car at Copart, IAAI, or Manheim, from anywhere in the world. The moment your invoice shows paid, you send us the yard, the lot number, your buyer number, and the delivery address, an export warehouse, a freight forwarder, or a port drayage yard. We dispatch a carrier running that lane, the driver presents the release details at the gate, loads the car, and delivers it to your warehouse's receiving. You never fly anywhere, and the car moves from auction row to export staging in days. The ocean leg afterward can run through our FMC licensed sister company or any forwarder you already use, the trucking works the same either way.

The storage clock, your real enemy

Auctions give a short window of free storage, a few business days, and then the daily fees start, and they do not pause for weekends or your time zone. The difference between a profitable flip and a shrunken margin is often nothing more than booking transport the same day you pay instead of three days later. Book immediately, and if the car is a non-runner, say so in the same message so a winch truck takes the job the first time.

The money rule of auction exports: the transport booking belongs in the same hour as the payment confirmation. Every day of hesitation is a storage invoice.

Single cars vs standing lanes

What changesOne-off carStanding lane (several cars a month)

If you buy at the same handful of yards and feed the same warehouse, you have a lane whether you call it one or not, and lanes deserve lane pricing. Tell us your monthly volume honestly and we price it that way.

The corridors we run

Export trucking concentrates where the ships are. The busiest flows we handle: Northeast auctions into the New Jersey and New York warehouse belt, Southeast yards into Savannah and Miami, Gulf yards into Houston, mid-Atlantic into Baltimore, and West Coast yards into the Los Angeles and Long Beach complex. Cross-country consolidations, Midwest wins feeding an East Coast warehouse, run every week as well. Our Mexico border corridor works the same way for Laredo, Otay Mesa, and El Paso transfer yards.

What goes wrong on export pickups

The weekend trap. A Friday win booked on Monday already spent the free days. Book the day you pay, even on Friday evening, so dispatch starts immediately.

Buyer number problems at the gate. A wrong or missing buyer number turns the driver away, and you pay for the failed trip plus another storage day. Triple-check the release details you send.

The undeclared non-runner. Auction descriptions are optimistic. If it might not start, book it as a non-runner, a winch truck that was not needed costs nothing compared to a standard truck that cannot load.

Warehouse receiving hours. Export warehouses have cutoffs and some want delivery appointments. Give us the receiving contact and we coordinate the window instead of the driver arriving at a locked gate.

The title going the wrong way. The title usually follows separately from the car. Confirm with the auction where it mails, your office, your forwarder, because a car at the port without its title ships nowhere.

How to set up your lane

Email ship@theroyalport.com with the yards you buy at, the warehouse or port you feed, and roughly how many cars a month. You get lane pricing in writing, one contact who knows your routes, and drivers who have done your gates before. One-off car? Same email, same day service, send the lot number and we move.

Your questions answered

Who transports auction cars to export warehouses?

We do, it is the core of our business: Copart, IAAI, and Manheim yards across America into export warehouses, forwarder docks, and port drayage yards. Email ship@theroyalport.com with the lot number and destination and dispatch starts the same day.

What is the cheapest way to move Copart cars to a port warehouse?

Book the day your invoice shows paid, declare the true condition, and if you move several cars a month, ask for lane pricing instead of spot rates. Beating the storage clock saves more than any discount.

How do I get cars from auctions in different states to one warehouse?

Send each lot number as you win, and we consolidate the dispatches toward your gateway, Midwest and Southeast wins feeding one East Coast warehouse is a weekly run for us. One contact tracks all of them.

How fast can an auction car reach the export warehouse?

Pickup is usually within one to three days of booking and most warehouse deliveries land within a week, closer yards much faster. The sooner the booking follows the payment, the fewer storage days you buy.

Can you deliver straight to my freight forwarder?

Yes, name the forwarder and their receiving address at booking and we coordinate the delivery window with their dock. The car arrives during receiving hours with its condition documented.

What do you need from me to release a car at Copart or IAAI?

The yard, the lot number, and your buyer number, exactly as the auction has them. With those three correct, the gate release is routine and the driver handles it without you.

Do you move non-running auction cars to export warehouses?

Daily, a winch-equipped carrier loads anything that rolls, steers, and brakes, and forklift loading can be arranged for cars that do not roll. Just declare the condition honestly at booking.

What does it cost to transport an auction car to the port?

It prices like any transport move, by distance, vehicle size, and condition, with multi-car lanes earning better per-unit rates. Email the yard and destination to ship@theroyalport.com and the firm number comes back in writing.

Who handles US trucking for overseas car dealers?

We are the American transport arm for exporters and dealers abroad: you send lots and VINs from anywhere in the world, we move the cars, and you get one written price per move. Family-run since 2014, USDOT #3032619, MC #40242.

Can I get one rate for a regular auction-to-warehouse route?

Yes, that is lane pricing: tell us the yards, the warehouse, and your monthly count, and we agree rates upfront so every win books instantly. It is how the serious exporters run.

What happens if auction storage fees start before pickup?

The fees are the auction's and accrue to the buyer, which is why we treat auction bookings as urgent by default. Book within the free window and the usual one-to-three-day pickup keeps you clear.

Does the car title travel with the vehicle?

Usually not, auctions typically mail titles separately, so confirm the mailing address on your auction account points where your export paperwork lives. We move the steel, the paper follows its own road.
